The differences between soft seal and metal seal butterfly valve
In the selection, we will check with customer some process information such as: temperature, nominal pressure, pipeline flow and so on.The process parameter can help to do a better selection. In the choice of butterfly valve is metal seal electric butterfly valve or soft seal electric butterfly valve.
Soft seal electric butterfly valve is mostly with the structure of center line.
Metal seal butterfly valve are mostly with the structure of single eccentric, double eccentric and triple eccentric.
Sealing materials for soft seal is Flour-rubber, PTFE, etc. Due to the limitation of structural characteristics, it’s not suitable for high temperature, high pressure and abrasion operating condition.
The soft seal seat is made of non-metallic materials with certain strength, hardness and low temperature resistance. The sealing performance can be zero leakage, but the life and adaptability for high temperature are not so good as metal seal ones .
Metal seal electric butterfly valve, as a kind of components used to make the pipeline system switching and flow control, has been widely used in petroleum, chemical industry, metallurgy, water and electricity industry. Metal seal electric butterfly valve with eccentric metal seal structure, sealing performance is relatively not so good as soft seal type . But metal seal type can be used in high pressure conditions.
